Lucky Cheng's

Here are some pics from our show last week at Lucky Cheng's

This Friday and This Sunday

This Friday evening (March 25th) we are opening for Sopranos and Good Fellas star Michael Imperioli's band "La Dolce Vita" at a interesting club called "Lucky Chengs" on 1st Ave in New York City.

What makes the place so interesting is that the waitresses are actually MEN IN DRAG! Should be... interesting!

Later that weekend we are appearing on Dave The Boogieman's internet radio show, which will air Sunday evening (the 27th) at 7:30 PM (EST). Dave's show lighlights the best of PowerPOP and melodic rock from all eras. Don't miss it! Click Dave's pic to link to the live stream and to download previous shows.

Television!

Funny how things happen. We've been "on vacation" for the past month and were planning on getting back together to prepare a new show to coincide with the release of our new cd when we get a call from the new NYNBC show "All Night with Joey Reynolds".

Joey Reynolds has been a radio icon in New York for decades and we have appeared on his radio show before so it wasn't completely out of left field but the call came like this; can you appear on the show tonight?!? That didn't go over too well with our wives (this being Valentine's day) but you know the old show biz saying...

There were other issues as well; we hadn't played live since December and hadn't had a rehearsal since November, David (our keyboard player) was unavailable due to a prior commitment but being the troopers that we are we went ahead anyway.

So here it is, thanks to NYNBC, YouTUBE and Blogspot. Buddy Love on TV!

Crying Town (Live!)

As a teaser for our upcoming CD (Yes, it's actually been mastered and Yes, it's actually schedule for release in January 2011, I have a live version of our song Crying Town.

Enjoy!

Return of Simple at IPO NY 2010

IPO NY has come and gone and I guess I'm a little disappointed. I knew that being booked for a Sunday evening wasn't going to be great but the turnout for our performance was almost non-existant! The only people in the place were either our friends or the other bands who were also waiting to perform (to an empty house).

One consolation though, I saw a GREAT band! Not the usual pop fare but a jazzy trio (piano, bass & drums) called Return of Simple.

Rob Kovacs (pianist, vocalist and songwriter) crafts beautifully intricate (yet very listenable) songs reminiscent of Coldplay on one hand and Bruce Hornsby on the other.

I urge you all to check out their music. They are AWESOME!

It's that time of year again...

For the fourth year in a row, IPO NEW YORK! And again, the festival is going to be at Kenny's Castaway's on Bleecker Street (the heart of Greenwich Village).

Come out to see us this Sunday at 7 PM, yea it's a Sunday but it's early so you have NO EXCUSE!
